7 Countries. 7 Days.
So here it is, the next instalment of Ancient Syncrology. The van life blog has largely documented the gradual transformation of my van from stock Syncro to a home-on-wheels ready for the zombie apocalypse. However, I think it’s about time I let all you folks into my weird little world and the daily adventures of life on the road.
Well, what better place to start than a 7 countries in 7 days road trip with the weirdest freaks of nature a.k.a my closest and most trusted childhood friends…but seriously, these guys are so borderline I have to go on pilgrimage every time I spend an evening with them.
Introducing...
T O A D - This guy is weird beyond words and not to be trusted. He regularly proposes deals with a cheeky hand gesture ( pictured... ) that benefit no-one but himself. He currently lives in Barcelona for ' work '...we all know he's on the run from the law.
J E B L E Y - The bread winner and most respectable member of the Goblins. If funds are running low we turn to the bank of Jeb. However, after a few drinks Jamie transforms from a delightful young chap into J E B L E Y the son of Satan.
D O D G Y - D O M - As old as time itself and a good friend of Tutankhamun. Dom is a straight arrow but I told everyone he was dodgy at school and the name stuck.
S T O K E S - Mr cool...there's really nothing this guy can't do. Drummer, Ice hockey player, Muay Thai enthusiast, photographer and all round good guy. Stokes is Mr Positive and always keeps the gang in check.
J A C K M A C - Me, the weird van dwelling freak and bikepacking goblin. I used to be a respectable member of society but decided it was boring and now aspire to be a hobbit.
Last year we pillaged our way through Europe as we returned the Toad back to his residence in Barcelona…he said he’s out there teaching English but we all know he’s on the run from the law for some god forsaken crime against humanity. Anyway, I decided to turn a blind eye to the acts of Satan and assembled the goblins for a road trip across France & Spain. Thus, it was divinely ordained that the fellowship would once again assemble for another trip of wanton destruction. I have to say that after months of travelling, mechanical chaos, a broken camera and drone I had less wonga in the bank than Dobby the House Elf. Thus, it was only sensible to head straight to Switzerland; a country known for it’s cheap prices….ahum. Thus, it was decided, Toad returned to the UK via Blackbeard and his merry band of pirates and we hit Dover ready to board the ferry and escape the authorities.
